Here is a copy of the Grandparents Association Newsletter for September 2021. One of the things that struck me as I read it was this paragraph:
“I would also like to encourage Grandparents to come home to Mass this Autumn. We Grandparents need to lead by example and encourage people back to Mass. We have been blessed by our domestic Churches and the ability to participate in Mass from our armchairs. But as people of faith we are all about community and communion, we are all about gathering. It’s time for us to change from being temporary armchair Catholics to come back to Church. May God continue to bless the efforts of all of you involved in ministry and outreach to Grandparents at this time.”
Of course we totally understand if you still feel uncomfortable getting out of the house, but if you are going out to eat or shopping at the grocery store, then please consider coming back to Sunday mass on Saturday at 4 PM, Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 in English or 1230 PM in Spanish. Or to daily mass on Monday to Friday at 8 AM. Jesus is waiting to see you again.
Our next grandparents meeting will be on Saturday October 30th from 10:00AM – 11:00AM in the Social Hall. It would be awesome to see all grandparents show up to this meeting. We have a large community of grandparents at St Mark, but only a few have been showing up to our meetings.
Let’s make the October Meeting a special time together.
