Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito’s Statement Regarding the School Shooting in Uvalde, Texas
All of us are terribly grieved and shocked at the senseless elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. We join together in prayer for those who lost their lives, those injured, and for all those at the school and their families. We earnestly pray for an end to such violence within our nation.
The words of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, speak for all of us: “My heart is broken for the massacre at the elementary school in Texas. I am praying for the children and adults killed and their families. It is time to say enough to the indiscriminate trafficking of weapons. Let us work hard so that such tragedies can never happen again.”
May Our Lady, Queen of the Apostles, pray for us.
