The Good Samaritan
We are all familiar with the story of the Good Samaritan from the Gospel of Luke Chapter 25. This week I visited a ministry in Port St. Lucie named Good Samaritan Ministries. This ministry is a faith-based ministry that provides services to homeless families and individuals who are suffering from addiction. If you have had a family member who suffered from addiction, you know how devastating that can be. They provide support services to 122 men and women in their residential recovery program along with their 58 children. They support their ministry through the revenues of several businesses where residents work each day as part of their recovery program.
These businesses include Good Samaritan Thrift Store, Mighty Men Mechanics, Heavenly Lawncare, FSH Flooring, Trinity Trees, Maids from Heaven, Kingdom Moving and Storage, and Gifts From Above. Quite a creative way to support a ministry. In addition, they need donations to support their ministry.
I was impressed by what I saw and by what I experienced while I was there, and I encourage you to consider supporting them financially if you are able. You can do that by sending a check to Good Samaritan Ministries, 8280 Business Park Dr., Port St. Lucie, FL 34952. Their phone number is 772-398-0065 and their website is goodsamaritanpsl.org. You can also support them by using one of their businesses that are listed above for one of the services that they provide.
This year we will have an additional Angel Tree for the children whose families receive support from Good Samaritan Ministries. Right now, there are 58 children, but that number could grow by Christmas time.
God bless you all
Father Bob
