The son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” But the father said to his servants, “Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him…for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.”
-Luke 15: 21-24
Sometimes people think that confession is when you go to God and say, “God, I promise that I’ll be good. Please give me another chance.” But that is the wrong perspective. God is the one who initiates confession. God is the one who moves first. God is the one who invites us first. Whenever we come to the sacrament of Reconciliation, our confession is a response to God, who is saying, “Please come to me.”

Christmas is a wonderful and perfect time to give your heart to Jesus.
John says in the book of Revelation, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:3-4). -Ashley Ashcraft
