July 1, 2023
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
Next weekend, July 8/9, 2023, our diocese will take up the Catholic Relief Services collection, which supports organizations that provide aid to victims of wars and natural disasters, to refugees and immigrants, and to travelers with special pastoral needs. Your response to this collection helps to meet the short-term emergency needs of people who are hurting, while also enabling the Church to bring about long-term solutions that build peace and secure human rights around the world.
The collection supports six agencies that serve vulnerable and marginalized people at
home and abroad, including the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Migration & Refugee Services, Cultural Diversity in the Church, International Justice & Peace programs, plus
the Justice, Peace & Human Development program’s Education & Outreach services, in addition to Catholic Legal Immigration Network and the Holy Father’s Relief Fund. Your generosity and prayers are vital in meeting the needs of our vulnerable neighbors across the globe.
Thank you again for all that you do, prayerfully and financially, to help those burdened by poverty, famine, war, and natural catastrophes. May God continue to bless you with every grace and strength and may our Blessed Mother always intercede for you. With gratitude for your continued generosity and every prayerful wish, I am
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito
Bishop of Palm Beach
