Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in
good health, as it goes well with your soul. 3 John 1:2
Spring is a beautiful time in south florida with moderate temperatures and beautiful blooming flowers and trees. Pollen and allergens are everywhere that can trigger seasonal allergies and make a person miserable.
Below are steps to help stop allergy reactions. Of course, consult your doctor if allergy symptoms persist.
1. TAKE ALLERGY MEDS EARLY-Start taking an over-the-counter antihistamine or using a nasal spray before your symptoms hit. It’s easier to prevent than to treat.
2. MOVE YOUR WORKOUT INDOORS-If you have outdoor allergy triggers like pollen, then it is wise to move your workout indoors or at least wait until the afternoon or early evening when pollen counts tend to be lower.
3. TURN ON THE A.C.- Use a HEPA air filter and keep your windows closed to keep pollen and outdoor allergens out.
4. KEEP YOUR HOUSE CLEAN-Vacuum and dust regularly to keep pollen and other allergens to a minimum.
5. SHOWER AT NIGHT-Shower and wash your clothes at night after a day spent outdoors.
6. MONITOR DAILY POLLEN COUNTS
Be aware of pollen counts and act accordingly.
