The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34
Grief is the anguish experienced after a significant loss, usually the death of a beloved person. Grief can also be a regret for something lost (pet or job), remorse for something done or sorrow for a mishap to oneself. Grief is evidence of your love.
Many live with unresolved grief. Many have stuffed their emotions down deep into their being and never made their feelings of grief a reality. This unresolved grief will eventually surface in one way or the other.
Sound familiar? Maybe you are just not sure.
At St. Mark’s we have an ongoing grief group that meets on Saturday afternoon in the parish center. It is an open discussion format led by Nurse Barb RN, MSN. This group offers an outlet to express your feelings and provides tools to help you work your way through grief.
Come give it a try…even if it’s been years since your loss.
You don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. Come listen and learn. We will meet biweekly @ 2 PM. Join our next meeting on Saturday, September 7th at 2 PM in the Social Hall.
If you have questions about the group, please feel free to call me at 772-359-8369.
Peace,
Barb
